Walmart files injunction against circular objects
If you haven't heard yet, Walmart is taking www.walmartworkerscanada.ca to court.
Walmart says this website is a violation of trademark law. Walmart says that www.walmartworkerscanada.ca shouldn't be allowed to use the words "Walmart" or "Walmart Workers" or to make fun of the slogan "Save Money. Live Better." Walmart also says that www.walmartworkerscanada.ca shouldn't be allowed to use certain "oval or semi-circular designs". In other words, The Circle.
But here's the really strange part: this website, www.walmartworkerscanada.ca, was launched in 2003 and has been helping Walmart workers ever since. So, why after six years is Walmart suddenly crying foul? If this injunction request is really about protecting Walmart's trademarks, the corporation would have done something years ago.
Help SAVE the CIRCLE and protect free speech on the internet: send a protest letter to Walmart executives, and help spread the word about this campaign by pulling a fun-filled prank on your CIRCLE of FRIENDS.
It only takes 30 seconds and it makes a real difference.
